Leora Conway is a nonprofit executive with more than two decades of experience leading development, communications, and public affairs for complex, mission-driven organizations. She has built functions from the ground up, advised CEOs and boards, represented organizations in the media and during crisis, and closed transformational partnerships across every sector. Her work sits at the intersection of narrative, strategy, and human connection.
As Vice President of Development at Union League Boys & Girls Clubs, Leora leads all philanthropic revenue, marketing, communications, and external affairs, serving as the organization's primary spokesperson and a principal member of the senior leadership team. She was promoted to VP within six months of hire, having established the organization's first dedicated corporate development function in its century-long history.
Before joining Union League Boys & Girls Clubs, Leora served as Director of Business for The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Center in Chicago, where she led a full enterprise turnaround across more than 20 locations, directing operations, finance, technology, and a workforce of hundreds while driving sustained growth and full digital transformation.
Earlier, as Director of Development, Community Awareness and Public Relations for The Salvation Army's Metropolitan Division, she served as Public Information Officer and the organization's official spokesperson across Northern Illinois and Northwestern Indiana, representing the organization during critical moments of public communication and emergency response. Her expertise in media and public affairs shaped The Salvation Army's image across the region.
Her career began in New York City, where she led marketing and business development for a major real estate firm at Rockefeller Center.
Leora serves on the NBC5 and Telemundo Chicago Community Action Board. She is a former Executive Board Member and Events Chair of the Publicity Club of Chicago, Volunteer of the Year 2020, and a Founding Board Member and PR Chair of Peña Madridista NYC, the largest Real Madrid supporters organization outside of Spain.
She holds a Master of Science in International Marketing Management from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Finance from CUNY Brooklyn College.
A comprehensively certified Pilates instructor, she is building a vision for community health and human potential that extends well beyond the boardroom.
